Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires up to 6 additional years of hospital based surgical and anesthesia training. In addition, Dr. Garel is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. After 20 years of private practice experience, Dr. Garel manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Dr. Garel practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from corrective jaw surgery to a full range of dental implant procedures and wisdom tooth removal.
Dr. Garel provides the following services to his patients:
- General anesthesia and IV sedation
- Removal of erupted and impacted teeth
- Dental implants to replace lost or missing teeth
- Reconstruction of the mouth, midface, and upper/lower jaw utilizing bone and/or soft tissue grafts
- Exposure of impacted canines and other permanent teeth
- Orthognathic surgery (correction of upper and lower jaw deformities)
- Diagnosis and treatment of oral conditions, infections and pathology
- Preparation of the jaws for tooth replacement and dentures
- Trauma surgery related to accidental injuries of the face and jaws
Dr. Garel's staff is trained in assisting with I.V. anesthesia within our state of the art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery.
Surgical Staff
The surgical staff at Vail Valley OMS & Dental Implant Center are experienced oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants, who assist in administration of I.V. anesthesia and surgery. All staff are informed administrative personnel, well-versed in health and insurance policies and are CPR certified.
