Vail CO
The town of Vail was established in 1966 at the base of the Vail Ski Resort, the largest single ski mountain in North America. The area was named for Charles Vail, who engineered Highway 6 through the valley in the 1940′s.
Vail Mountain has 33 lifts and 193 marked trails and has been ranked as the top ski resort.
Vail hosts the Vail Film Festival and the Vail Valley Music Festival. It has the largest free shuttle bus system in the US.
