Avon CO
The town of Avon was originally named Avon when it was listed in 1889 as a railway station. The name may also have begun as Avondale.
Avon is the most populous town in Eagle County, and is the gateway to the Beaver Creek Resort to the south.
The Avon area was originally a farming community, specializing first in beef for nearby mining communities, then head lettuce they shipped as far as the east coast, weeks after the general harvest was past. The presence of major ski resorts in the area has shaped the current population of the town.
Residents of Avon are 6 miles from excellent dental care in Edwards CO, including Dental Implants and Wisdom Teeth.
